“Lord, Teach Us to Pray”… For Missionaries
Thoughts on praying for missionaries from Matthew 6
Our Father in heaven
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And so, by the example Jesus has set before us, we must pray for our missionaries to both give and receive grace. Pray:
- For a closer walk with God for your missionaries. Pray that they will be able to lead others to the deep place of satisfaction in Him that they have found.
- For grace, forgiveness and life for the lost. Pray that they will see and understand the grace of God they see exemplified in the lives of our missionaries.
- For loving, forgiving, grace-filled relationships between missionary team members. Pray that they would not plant the church as a “project” to be done; but
that they would BE the church, the Body of Christ, and act like it.
